Drainage Maintenance
Drainage Management
The best way to prevent drainage problems is to maintain your system, to reduce build-up in your pipework that can result in blockages. It is far cheaper and more convenient to maintain a drain than it is to have your drains unblocked.
We maintain a large number of commercial properties as part of routine maintenance works. Typically we descale internal pipework with the use of mechanical cleaning to remove any build-up of scale to the inside of pipework that can eventually cause blockages if things snag on the scale. The pipework we mechanically clean can range from small 1 ½ inch pipework, right the way through to 9-inch stack pipes. Externally we clean the underground drainage systems using high-pressure water jetting to ensure that any build-up is cleared to leave the pipes free-flowing.
Rainwater systems are just as important to maintain, especially given the extreme weather conditions that are seemingly becoming more regular, which can often result in flooding. If a rainwater system is routinely maintained, with ACO drainage and rainwater gullies cleared and free-flowing, then the risk of flooding is dramatically reduced and again the cost of preventing a flood is far less than the cost of reacting to a flood after it has happened.
Routine maintenance for any commercial property is a highly cost-effective action, the repercussions of poorly maintained drainage can lead to major disruption to your business, in the worst cases facilities have to be closed to allow for the clearing of blockages or clearance of any spillage that may have occurred as the result of the blockage.
